Return Your Loved One Home

Compassionate Shipping and Repatriation Services

Shipping & Repatriation Handled with Care

Families come to us for two kinds of journeys. Sometimes a loved one needs to travel to or from another state here in the U.S. Other times, they're coming home to Idaho from Mexico — or returning to rest in their homeland.

Whatever the distance, the arrangements can feel overwhelming during an already difficult time. At Bella Vida Funeral Home, we're here to help your family understand the process, figure out the right path forward, and take it one step at a time with compassion and respect.

Repatriation to & from Mexico

Transporting a loved one across the border — in either direction — involves more than travel. Every situation is different, but the process often touches on several areas. We'll help you understand which of these apply to your family:

  • Consular Requirements. Travel into or out of Mexico can require specific permits, authorizations, and transit documents.
  • Transportation. Arranging flights and ground transportation between Boise and the destination city.
  • Documentation. Death certificates, apostilles, and transit permits are typically part of a cross-border transfer.
  • Preparation. Preparation of your loved one in a way that respects your family's cultural and religious customs.
  • Translation. Required documents may need to be translated into Spanish for authorities in Mexico.

Not sure where to start? Give us a call and we'll walk through your family's situation together.

Within the United States

When a loved one passes away in another state — or needs to travel from Idaho to family elsewhere in the country — we can help coordinate the journey. Whether we're receiving them into our care here in Boise or sending them onward, we'll help you understand what's involved:

  • Air & Ground Transportation. Coordinating flights and transfers between Boise and cities across the country.
  • Receiving & Transfer of Care. Meeting your loved one on arrival, or arranging their transfer into the care of a funeral home in another state.
  • Documentation. The certificates and permits that typically accompany a transfer between states.
  • Preparation. Preparing your loved one for travel in keeping with your family's wishes.

Every family's situation is a little different — give us a call and we'll walk through yours together.
