RICHARD CARROLL

RICHARD CARROLL of Star, Idaho went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2021 at the age of 87. Richard was born on December 15, 1933 to Oscar and Stella Carroll in Los Angeles, California, his family having moved from Texas to Califomia during the depression. They later settled on the Central Coast in Santa Maria, California

RICHARD attended Santa Maria High School, and later enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. where he served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. He was proud to have served his country, and always remembered these years as one of the highlights of his life

After the war, he returned to Santa Maria to work in the oil fields where he had received excellent training from his father, Oscar. Through his love for oil wells and sheer hard work, he was able to eventually acquire his own production business known as Richards 01 Company in Orcutt, California. It was a thriving business for many years on the Central Coast of California

RICHARD also loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren, and often would stop by just to take them someplace special. He had a deep abiding love for the Lord, and loved to travel and visit new places and see new things. One of his long beld desires was to visit the Holy Land in Israel, and he often talked about this experience as being one of the greatest events of his life to actually see where Jesus had walked. He also felt blessed to have twice been able to visit his original homeland of Ireland

RICHARD lived in the Santa Maria area for many years until his retirement at age 70 when he and his wife moved to Star. Idaho hear Boise

RICHARD is survived by his sister, Helen Wakefield, his four children, Robyn Bychak, David Canoll, Sheri Carroll, Gail Gonzales and many grandchildren, and his wife, Sheila CarrollA Graveside memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
