Rachel James, 12, of Placerville, California passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2016. She was born to Brian and Becky James on June 30, 2004 in Sacramento, California. Rachel attended Herbert Green Middle School.
People that knew Rachel best would describe her as vibrant, radiant, joyful, curious, adventurous and selfless. Her love for music inspired her to participate in multiple singing and instrumental performances. She was deeply loyal to her friends and family.
Rachel’s life would seem too short to many, but to those who were touched by her understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time. With Rachel’s passing, we remind everyone that her life is one that is meant to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, she will forever remain in our hearts.
Rachel is survived by her loving parents Brian and Becky James of Placerville, California; and her brothers Andrew and Benjamin, both at home. She also leaves her maternal grandparents Jim and Elizabeth Welch of Placerville, California; her paternal grandparents Linda Gibson of Cameron Park, California and Robert James of Sebastopol, California; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
We will be celebrating Rachel’s life this Saturday July 9, 2016 with the viewing at 12:30 PM and the service at 1:00 PM. It will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3431 Hacienda Road in Cameron Park, California. We ask that attendees wear happy and cheerful colors. Cards will be available at the church to share memories of Rachel, but attendees are welcome to write down their thoughts and stories ahead of time. Preparation is being handled by Bella Vida Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery in Rescue, California.
