Tamara Anne Norris Nelson Obituary (1959

Tamara Anne Norris Nelson age 59, passed away in the very early morning hours of August 13, 2019, after a short illness. Tammy was born November 12, 1959, to Phillip Joel Norris and Ada Ann Strickland, in Shreveport, LA. She was the second of four children and preceded in death by her father Phillip Joel Norris and brother, Phillip Joel Norris Jr.. Tammy is survived by her dear mother, Ada, and her super-hero Dad II, Jack Wesley Nelson, who nicknamed her "kiddo". She also is survived by her sisters, Debra Lynn Pugmire, and Kimberly Kay Stewart, as well as 4 step-sisters (Enid Lewis, Dawna Price, Jackie Casdorph, and Clarissa Miller) and 2 step-brothers, (Wes Nelson, and Robert Nelson). Her family moved to Boise in 1970 and Tammy remained there for the rest of her life. She also lived in Utah, Arkansas, and Oregon. Tammy was born with many mental and physical challenges that affected her life in various ways, but those challenges didn't keep her from showing love to everyone she met. She was a Southern Hugger! She was able to graduate from Meridian High School, in 1981, and was employed by many companies over the years, including Taco Bell, WINCO, Burger King and many others. Her favorite part of working was when she got paid Tammy loved her family, especially her Mom and Dad ll. Their lives revolved around Tammy in one way or another her whole life. She was very much a princess Tammy loved music and her obsession with music groups throughout her life have included The Partridge Family; especially David Cassidy, The Bay City Rollers, Tears for Fears, and she sure loved to dance and sing to those musicians. Later in life she learned to appreciate LDS Hymns and listened to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir almost every day. She also loved her television shows; including Golden Girls. Most recently she was super into Texas Rangers, starring her 5th cousin twice removed, Chuck Norris th She went on a cruise with some friends and loved it, especially when the dolphins swam alongside the ship. She was hoping one of them would be "Flipper" from the television show! Some of her favorite things were directing music, mugs of all sizes, "half-n-half" soda pop, pillows, handbags, cute sayings like "You bet your sweet bippy", holiday family gatherings, family reunions, family prayer, special needs mutual, bowling and swimming, jewelry, food, playing BINGO, her many nephews, nieces, and their children, her friends and her many care givers, the Relief Society sisters, and Bishops (all of them, especially the ones she could corral and give orders to!) Tammy's sweet, sassy personality will always be remembered. We will miss her and will always love her "to the moon and back" (TTMAB). Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2019, 2:00 PM, with a viewing beforehand at 12:30, at the Ustick LDS Church, 11918 W Ustick Rd, in Boise, under the direction of Bella Vida Funeral Home www.bellavidafuneral.com.
