Shirley Chrisman

Shirley was born on May 30th, 1946, and passed away peacefully on February 23rd, 2024, surrounded by family. Shirley worked for Cascade Designs for 41 years in Seattle and supervised the production of MSR/REI snowshoes, sleeping bags, Thermarest Pads, MSR backpack stoves, and lightweight tents. She went to Cork, Ireland, to set up production lines for MSR products in Europe. Her pride was in her daughter Cheryl and her dogs and grand-dogs. A lifetime resident of Seattle, she moved to Idaho for retirement in 2015 to be with Cheryl and Dave when they finally got married. She took to retirement with zeal and volunteered at Cole Community Church and the Meridian Food Pantry. She went on many camping and boating trips all throughout southern Idaho and developed a special love for Ponderosa State Park and Three Island Crossing State Park. Shirley's brother David preceded her in death, and she has three older sisters, Lucille, Virginia, and Joyce. Daughter Cheryl is married to Dave Jensen, who nicknamed Shirley "Momzie" early on, and the name stuck for over 20 years.
