Larry Steele

Meridian, Idaho

It is with a heavy heart that I, Michael Steele, announce the passing of my beloved father, Larry Hyrum Steele. Born on November 18th, 1939, in Ely, Nevada. Larry was a thoughtful and dedicated man who poured his heart into everything he did. From his family to his faith, to his love for art and science, his passion ran deep.

Larry was a talented artist, his creative soul shone through in his stunning graphite and colored pencil art, as well as his beautiful sculptures. His fascination with the mysteries of life and the universe was evident in his deep interest in physics and his love for science fiction. He took joy in the symmetries and beauty of life and captured this in his art and his appreciation for classical music and vibrant flowers. He was a faithful member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, taking his relationship with God very seriously, a sentiment echoed in Isaiah 40:28-31.

Larry was a dedicated husband to Carol Steele, whom he married on December 4th, 1965. He was a hardworking man, spending his career in manufacturing before retiring in 2004. But his work did not stop there. Larry continued to labor in his faith and to work hard for his family, providing the best life possible for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and his children Mark, Paul, Melissa, and Michael Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Juanita Steele, his brother, Coy Steele, and his sisters, Maurene Congrove & Norma.

Larry was a unique man, one who required understanding to fully appreciate his special personality and talents. He was a man who held dear to him his faith, his family, and his art. He has left behind a legacy of dedication, thoughtfulness, and talent that will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched.

We encourage you to share your memories of Larry and upload photos to his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting reminder of the extraordinary man he was and the beautiful life he led.
