Kuna, Idaho
With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Karen Louise Schroeder, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Twin Falls, ID on February 19, 1959, Karen made her mark in the world through her funny, loving, witty, and resilient spirit. She lived her life with a vibrant faith, a contagious laughter, and an inexhaustible love for her family, pets, and students. Karen, whose life journey took her to various places such as Wendover, NV, Elko, NV, Sandy Valley, NV, Indian Springs, NV, Boise, ID, and finally Meridian, ID, found her long-lasting home in Kuna, Idaho.
Karen's life was a testament to her resilient spirit. She was a woman who overcame many obstacles, always emerging stronger with a smile on her face. Karen drove the school bus for special-needs kids, and in doing so, touched the lives of many children and families in her community. Her free time was filled with joyous activities such as reading, making flower arrangements, camping, and traveling. Karen's joy was in taking her granddaughter to the zoo, being by the ocean, and attending church. But what she loved the most was spending time with her family. Although she was known to be stubborn at times, she always made sure to let everyone know how much she loved them. And she did love them - deeply and unconditionally.
Karen was a proud and devoted Christian. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she believed in the promise of Romans 8:18: "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Karen is survived by her daughters Cheyenne and Nichol, her son Ryan, her step-daughter Marcie, her step-son Daniel, her grandchildren Natosha, Jordan, Kristopher, Shaundra, Hailey, Kalayla, and Jaxon. Great-grandchildren Braidyn, Addisyn, Anaiah and Brodie. She also leaves behind her nieces Vanessa and Ashley and great-niece McKenzie, and her loving puppy Noelle.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Walter, mother Bette, brother Robert, son Kristopher, and son-in-law Matthew. Her beloved dog's Suzie-Q and Desi.
Karen's smile, love, and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. We encourage all who knew Karen to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. In this way, we can all cherish and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who, with her departure, has left a hole in many hearts. Yet, we find comfort in knowing that she now rests in the loving embrace of her heavenly Father.
