Aka: Grandma Joy, MeMa, Mom, and Joy
June 14, 1942 - December 11, 2019
Joy Anne Loyd, age 77, passed December 11, 2019 in Boise, Idaho
She was
born to the late Troy and Vera Farmer, June 14, 1942, in Los Angeles County,
California. Joy graduated from Chaffey High School, Ontario, California in
1960.
She was married to Woodie Gene Loyd in 1986, where they lived most
of their lives in Southern California before relocating to Caldwell, Idaho. Joy
is survived by her husband: Woodie Gene Loyd; her son, daughter, and their spouses:
Robert "Bob" and Kathleen Herron of Chino, California; Bobby and Robin
Shindelar of Meridian, Idaho; a daughter she called her own: Donella Miller
Kley of Boise, Idaho; three step daughters and their spouses: Mike and Shawna
Babbit of Boise, Idaho; Rich and Paula Loyd Hyland of North Las Vegas, Nevada;
and late Brenda Loyd Hobbs and Donnie Hobbs.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Ryan Herron, Brandon Herron,
Daniel Babbit, Andrew Babbit, Courtnie Babbit Heath, Tyler Hollis, Cody Hollis,
Angelica Shindelar, James Shindelar, Manuel Shindelar, Hannah Hyland, Jeremy
Hobbs, Madison Hobbs, Michael Faust, Adam Plummer, and 19 great-grandchildren. Joy
was predeceased by her loving parents, Troy and Vera, and step daughter Brenda.
Joy was an amazing musician. She sang and played all instruments, but her
love and gifted talent was for performing in bands playing the steel guitar,
even making Billboard news at the young age of 14 for her "steel" talent and
abilities. She passed her appreciation of music to her children and
grandchildren.
So many things in her life seemed of little significance at the
time they happened but then took on a greater importance as she got older. The memories she took with her are so
precious and have more value than anything in the world. She loved her large
blended family so much but always maintained that her greatest treasures called
her Mom, Grandma Joy, and MeMa.
It may sound sad to say that no buildings were named after her; no
monuments were erected in her honor. However,
there was nothing sad about her life because she had the chance to know and
love each and every friend as well as all her family members. Joy was immensely
proud of her family. She had beautiful blue eyes, a courageous soul, and a warm,
welcoming smile that she leaves behind as beautiful memories for us to cherish.
Joy passed peacefully on December 11th, 2019, with her family by her
side, playing old hymns and singing to her. If you sit quietly, you can hear
her singing "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."
