Barbara Reece

It is with heavy hearts our family announces that Barbara Reece, age 96, of Meridian Idaho, has gone home to be with her Lord June 28, 2024. Barbara was born January 5, 1928, in Fresno, California to Stan and Julia Jenkins. She is the oldest of three children.

Barbara married her childhood sweetheart James Reece on September 28, 1946, and shared a remarkable 70 years of marriage until James passing on May 12, 2017.
She was a loving mom to her 6 children, and a cherished Grandmother to 22 Grandchildren, 43 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great -Great-Grandchildren.

Barbara had an interest in many things, and ever the scholar was knowledgeable in them all. She was a proficient gardener, a prodigious reader, and an exceptional cook. You would always find that she had room at her table, or a story to tell you over a cup of tea. She was uncommonly generous with her love, her wisdom, and her time.

Barbara is survived by her brother Jack Jenkins, Children Thomas (Shari) Reece, Kathleen Nokes, Robert (Lanette) Reece, Donald (Patty) Reece, Judi (Monte) Armstrong, and Deborah (Mike) Paul. She is preceded in death by her husband James Reece, brother Larry Jenkins, Grandson James Turner, and Great-Grandson Chase Paul.

Barbara was deeply devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ, and openly shared her faith to others. She loved her family, her friends, and her country, and spent endless hours praying for them. She provided for her family peace and assurance in her passing that she is with the Lord she loves so much, and with many cherished memories of her love and kindness to us all.
