It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Lee Herbert, who departed this life at the age of 80. Barb was a beloved family member and friend, cherished by all who knew her.
Barbara was born in Buffalo, New York. In 1974, the family moved to Reseda, California where she continued to build her life and community. Then in 2004 they moved to Meridian Idaho. After her husband passed away, Barbara moved to Cottonwood Meadows Senior Apartments in Eagle, Idaho in 2018 where she spent her later years.
She proudly served her country in the United States Navy as a WAVE, where she was honored with many awards for her exemplary service and commitment. Barbara was instrumental and played a key role as administrative assistant and bookkeeper in the family business, Web’s Painting, where she worked for almost 20 years. Prior to that, she worked in the Alarm Company industry, always showing professionalism and care in her work.
Deeply involved in her community, Barbara participated in the PALS program with the Los Angeles Police Department, volunteered for the Ross Perot campaign, and supported many other causes throughout her life. Her passion for helping others and making a difference was evident in everything she did.
Barbara was a devoted wife for 49 years to her husband Bill. As a mother, Barb was actively involved in all sports and FFA (Future Farmers of America) with her son Bill, sharing in his interests and supporting his endeavors. Her enthusiasm for family activities and community programs reflected her caring spirit and dedication to those she loved.
Barbara loved parties and entertaining and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for the Buffalo Bills and NASCAR. Barb enjoyed all the fun times at Cottonwood, organizing Bingo, playing cards, holiday parties and potluck dinners. She deeply loved the community she found there. It was not just the place itself, but the people, the fellowship, and the many gatherings and activities that filled her heart with joy.
Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and the lasting impact she made on her community and loved ones. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories.
