Marcella (Marcy) Emery, 88, from Parma, Idaho went home to be with Jesus on January 18, 2018, surrounded by her family in Boise. Marcy was born on January 10, 1930, at home in Waukee, Iowa to Raymond and Bessie Flinn. It was a freezing winter day, so they wrapped her in blankets, put her in a dresser drawer and set her by the stove to keep her warm. She grew up in Adel, Iowa with two brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Adel High School in 1947. Marcy married Lou Emery on May 15, 1949, in Adel, Iowa. They moved to Boise, then to Parma in 1962 where she worked alongside Lou in their insurance and real estate business, Emery Real Estate. The joys of her life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many wonderful friends. She is survived by her children, Gerry (Steve) Case, Marcy (Dave) Paul, Kevin (Jill) Emery, and Lucy Kobusingye; nine grandchildren, Angie (Matt) Perkins, Nick (Lori) Sarich, Matt Sarich, Joshua (Rachel) Paul, Cecelia (Dan) Oxford, Craig Emery, Jake (Christa) Emery, Vali Emery, Will Ngabirano, and eleven great-grandchildren. Marcy is also survived by two sisters, Irene Wilcox of Madrid, Iowa and Alice (Russell) Hoffman of Perry, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lou Emery; a stillborn son, Michael Duane, and son, Craig (Vietnam, 1970).
At Marcy’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, Marcy has requested donations be made to your favorite charity, or to Love, INC of the Treasure Valley (P.O. Box 3404, Nampa, ID 83653). Please indicate that your donation is for the Marcy Emery Memorial. Marcy’s family extends a special thank you to Heart n’ Home Hospice. We have been blessed by their love and care during this time.

Marcy and Lou are together again along with the others she wanted to see. We envy her the wonder of heaven ! She has been engraved in our hearts for all eternity because of her love of God and her fierce loyalty to family and friends. The generations that will follow will be blessed to have known her even if it’s a memory shared.
Marcy’s love of Jesus resonanted in all she said and did. We never heard her speak badly of neighbors or friends, always saying , “Let’s pray about “them” or “that”. She loved us like family and we will look forward to seeing her again someday.

Marcy, your mom is a special woman. She has always been one of the special ladies in my memory of growing up in Parma. Your mom always had a smile to share with everyone she saw. She was always doing good things. I will miss her. I’m sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.
As a child growing up in Parma I spent nearly as much time in the Emery home as my own. Marcy’s guidance taught me perseverance, honesty, integrity & pride in a job well done (only clean dishes get put away). She was truly my other
mother! Thank you Big Marcy for all the love you bestowed me. Love you so much!

My sweet Marcy, Oh the times we had! I will never ever forget our times in my Barber Shop while I did your hair. The things we talked abd reminisced about, argued about, joked about, and cried, will stay with me and make me a better person. You my dear were my Angel but I guess God needs you in Heaven so I must be so happy for that. I will surely miss you

Marcy, I love you so much, along with all your family. You have all been such an inspiration to me through my journey in this life. It was my pleasure to get to know you better while working for Kevin. You are going to be missed, but I look forward to meeting you again and rejoicing in the beautiful place we will all reside together. Keep the angels busy with your joy and send them to Eric whenever they have nothing to do. Kisses to you, and blessing to your family left behind.

Marcy was like a grandma to me. I couldn’t wait to see her every Sunday just to give her a big hug and kiss. She was so kind, gentle, caring, and loving. I loved camp sawtooth growing up and she got me my very first bible and would write me and send me special little cards! She was a great woman of God and a great example of a Christian woman! She will be greatly missed by so many. She touched me as a child and I will always be greatful for the time I got with her, I love you Marcy.

I am so sorry to hear of Marcy’s passing. I am a cousin from her Parker/Herring side of the family and corresponded with her about our common ancestors. She was so helpful and sent me some of her family history. Although I didn’t ever meet her in person, she was a wonderful help to me. It was clear she was a lovely person.
Lou and Marcy were my kids surrogate Grandparents here in Coffman Cove Alaska in the 90’s. We are sorry for your loss. We connected again a few years ago when we received a Christmas card from Marcy. We were so happy to hear from her. We loved them so much and rejoice that they are together again in heaven.
