Lois Elaine Pendell (Weeks) passed away peacefully at Ashley Manor Elgin on March 17, 2017 at the age of 72 from complications from dementia. She was born in Bellingham, Washington on August 9, 1944 to Marcus A. Weeks and Margaret Rozella Stritzell.
Lois attended Mallaga School and Wenatchee High School. She met and married Robert Lawrence Pendell on October 6, 1961. Her daughter Kimberly Anne Pendell was born in 1963. Her son, Robert “Rob” Lawrence Pendell Jr., was born in 1967.
She worked for Apple City Dairy Mart and The Donut Shop in Wenatchee to help her single parent family after her divorce in October 1971. She then worked at Dennys until the mid 80’s and The Oak Tree in Woodland, WA. She trained and worked one season as a cook on the firefighter lines. As a cook, she worked many jobs throughout her chef career, and several retirement facilities in Renton, WA and Boise ID until her retirement in 2007.
She loved birds, her speckled front amazon, Mork in the 70’s and her last bird, her cockatoo Charlie. She also loved her last dog Toby. She collected recipes during and after her chef career. She loved to help and cook even in when she went into Ashley Manor.
Lois is preceded in death by her son Rob, October 8, 2008; her father Marcus and mother Margaret.
Lois is survived by her sisters Rose Marie Douglas, Mary Alice Matthews, her daughter Kimberly Loveless, her grandchildren Adam Yeager, Avory Yeager and partner Eli Wilson, and Danny Loveless along with great grandchildren Lillian, Logan and Evan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
A celebration of her life will be in August around her birthday, details to come.
