Kathleen Williamson

Kathleen Williamson Morse died on February 26, 2020 at her home following a year’s battle with cancer of the esophagus.   Kay was born May 29, 1954 to Dan and Evelyn Williamson in Concordia, KS.   She grew up on a farm north of Glasco, Kansas and attended Glasco schools.  She graduated from high school in Richardson, Texas in 1972 and St. Francis School of Nursing, Wichita, Kansas, 1977.

She married Richard Morse September,  4, 1978, in Missoula, MT.  They were parents of two daughters Jala Marie and Ashley Evelyn.  Kay and Richard later divorced.  

Kay lived in Frenchtown, Missoula, and Polson , MT.  She worked on the Salish Kootenai Reservation, enjoyed assignments as a traveling nurse in California, Hawaii and Kansas, to be closer to her mother.  She settled in Boise, Idaho in 2007 and was employed by the Life Care Center.   

Kay enjoyed all sports, especially the Boise Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and the events of Jala, Ashley, and July.   She was an accomplished cross-stitcher and woodworker with the special craft of Intarsia.

She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother; a caring and compassionate nurse.  She enjoyed everything related to nature, camping, hunting, and fishing.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, James Daniel and Timothy; brothers Joe, Mike, Ken, David, and a sister Karen LaBarge.  

She is survived by her daughters, Jala and Ashley and grandson July.  Sibling survivors include Mary Lavy, Concordia, KS; Nancy Briggs, Parsons, KS;  Guy (Ione) Micanopy, FL; John, Kersey, CO; Barbara Holste (Jerry) Manhattan, KS; Jean Hogan (Bert) Leesburg, FL;  Robert (Loralei) Caldwell, ID; Kevin (Tracy) Glasco, KS; Joyce Hood (John) Concordia, KS; Kieth, Leesburg, FL; and Linda Schmidt (Chad)  Meriden, KS; sisters-in-law  Mick Williamson, Bennington, KS; Nancy Williamson, Round Rock, Texas; and brother-in-law David LaBarge, Clovis, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews all around the country.  

A memorial has been established as an educational fund for her grandson July Morse.  Contributions may be mailed to Jala Morse, 11411 Irving St, Boise, ID, 83713.   Pictures and this obituary may be viewed and shared at 

Pastor Dave of the Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church conducted the service on March 5, 2020 at Cloverdale Funeral Home and Cemetary, Boise, Idaho.  A gathering of family and friends followed at the home.

    I love you Mom. Thank you for providing access to my mothers obituary. It was fast finding exactly I am looking for. Wonderful Job. Praise the Lord that you make it too your destination according too Jesus’s Will.
