Jerry Allen Pruitt was born on May 30th 1942, 1 of 8 children to Gertrude and Lee Pruitt in Ontario, California. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 16th 2018.
He married the love of his life Rosilynn Hicks, on July 17th 1960 in Atascadero, California. They settled in Paso Robles. with Jerry working as a truck driver and mechanic. As they created their family of 4 children, he moved to Medford, Oregon working for Cascade Business forms, as a printer, later moving on to Spokane, Washington as the production manager.
Jerry was a talented wood worker and carpenter, leading him into the career of a cabinet maker and finish carpenter before he retired. In his free time, his skill as a mechanic was put to use as he was part of a pit crew for a racing team.
Jerry also took great joy from his time in the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting with his great friends and family. Grampa Jerry’s lap was the place to get to first, when it was time for popcorn and a movie, as he loved his grand, and great grandchildren very much.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings, and is survived by his sisters Marie, Audrey, and Margie, his loving wife Rosilynn, his children, Jerald (Jamie) Pruitt, Norman Pruitt, Teresa (Chris) Whalen, Kathy (Sean) Whalen 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. His memorial service will be held on Saturday the 23rd of June at 12pm at Christ Lutheran Church 1406 W. Cherry Lane, Meridian, Idaho
