On March 25, 2017, our beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, and friend, left this life. Helen Johnson Mitchell, born 1929, had been an Eagle resident since 2003. Loved by all who knew her, she leaves a family legacy of numerous descendants: Miguel (Nora), Murrieta, CA; Susan (Dr. Brian C. Kerr), Eagle; Gwen (Derek Fisher), Newport Beach, CA; Dr. Jill Mitchell, Eagle; 13 grandchildren; 4 grandchildren-in-law and 4 great- grandchildren. A granddaughter, MacKenzie Kerr, currently serves in the Tucson, AZ Spanish–speaking mission.
A graduate of UCLA, Helen also attended BYU, and was a member of the Eagle 2nd Ward. Active in church and civic affairs in CA, she came to Eagle upon retirement to be with family. Her greatest love and accomplishment was to be married to our dad, Jack Mitchell, and to receive the call to head up the LDS Mission in Ecuador. Mom’s life was devoted to correct principles and spreading good will. Even in her last and waning moments she never wavered in testifying her convictions. A model for all of us. Special thanks to caregivers Brittany Batalia, Amy Haskins, Gina Gregerson, and to Dr. Ludwig. Our thanks to all the many people in Idaho who early on felt our mom’s warmth, visualizing her full and rich life, and reached out. You will not be forgot. Services will be held, Thursday, April 6, 2017, in the Park Lane LDS chapel, 1133 Park Lane, Eagle, ID, 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Auburn, CA, April 8, 2017.
