Mom was born October 9, 1946 to Lowell and Lula Brandon Christensen. She had so many fabulous memories of growing up in a loving family with her brother Phil, and sisters Maureen and Ranee.
Mom married Terry Billingsley and my sister, Tammy and I, were proud to call them our parents.They divorced after 17 years of marriage, but remained friends . She married Steve Simmons and together they raised “her little sunshine”, her grandson William.
Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was active in their lives, Brandon, Casey, Mikea and Gracie were fortunate to have her. She was so proud of the adults they became and really loved her grandsons spouses, Jalissa and Annie as her own granddaughters.
Her great-grandchildren, Caine, Asher, Emma and Remington gave her so much joy. She so hoped to see the children who would be born to William, as well as Brandon and Annie, but we know that she will be watching from above and will know them before they come to this earth.
Tammy and I were lucky enough to have mom live with us for the past 2 years here in Boise. We were more than just mother and daughters, we were friends and enjoyed shopping together and just hanging out.
Gaye is survived by her daughters, Cara (Terry) Sherman, Tammy Billingsley Schaan. Grandsons William Asbury, Brandon (Annie) Simmons, Casey (Jalissa ) Simmons.Granddaughter Mikea Carroll, Gracie Schaan. Her great-grandchildren, sisters, Maureen (Terrill) Andersen, Ranee (Leroy Pena) and numerous neice, nephews and cousins.
We know that she is in the arms of God, with all of those who have passed before her. There is no greater love on this earth than that of a mother. She loved us, as her mother had loved her and as we loved our children. Thank you mother, until we meet again!
