Donna Marie Johnson

Donna Marie (Pruitt) Johnson, Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away October 24, 2015 at St. Luke’s hospital in Boise, Idaho. Donna was born in Seattle, Washington October 19, 1944, the first of 3 daughters of Bob and Rose Pruitt. Her family moved from Seattle to Snohomish, Washington in 1957 where she first met Glenn Johnson.

Donna got her degree in computer programming and started a career that lasted for 35 years. During her working career she went to college part time and graduated from Boise State University. Donna worked for the Idaho Statesman for 22 years and Gannett for 5 years. She loved helping people learn and her job was to teach people new operating systems. After her retirement, she started working as the school crossing guard at the Maple Grove Elementary School and she loved keeping the childern safe as she helped them cross the street.

In 1974, Donna and Glenn realized something was missing in their life, so they started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and they were both baptized on April 13, 1975. She oved her ministry. We would go out early on Saturday mornings and talk to people about God’s Kingdom at bus stops and laundromats and then go door to door with the same message. The way she lived her life, especially in her later years is a witness in itself to the love hse had fro her God, Jehovah and of the hope the Bible golds out of living forever on a paradise earth. Donna died faithful to her loving God, Jehovah.

Donna also loved to participate in sports. Shw raced cars in the 60’s and early 70’s, played raquet ball and at one time was ranked #2 in the nation in her age group. She was an accomplished horse woman and loved showing her black Arabian stallion. For the past 10 years, she raised and showed Bichon Frise’ dogs. Throughout her life, Donna enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Donna is survived by her husband, Glenn Johnson; sons, Scott, his wife Summer and Jeff Johnson; sisters, Barbara Platt and her husband, Denver, Vicki Keel and her husband, Ray; grandchildern, Chelsea Portue, Michael Johnson, Nikola Evans, Ryan Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Hayden Brown, Shasta Brown and 6 great-grandchildren and many loving friends and family members.

A memorial Service for Donna will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 9855 W. Amity Road.
