David L. Collins

David L. Collins

Pastor David Lloyd Collins left this earth to be with Jesus on Monday, December 6th 2016 at age 69.
David was born on August 7 th 1947 in Wallace, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Walter and Ethel Wilma Collins and his sister, Jeanie
Rafferty.
David Collins, Senior Pastor and founder of Storehouse Church aka Riverwind Fellowship of Boise has
touched many lives over the last 3 decades. His ardent & animated style of worship flowed purely from
his God given talents as a vocalist and song writer. In 1986 he made headlines in the Idaho Statesman as
he challenged popular opinion and law makers by establishing Storehouse Church in a converted
bar/dance hall. The following year, he did it again when he pioneered ministry and meals to hundreds of
Treasure Valley homeless on Thanksgiving 1987. With the dawning of the new millennia Pastor Dave
with his wife and co-pastor Gina also founded Los Pastores Salsa. The salsa quickly became a local
favorite and helped fuel their ministry which focused on helping those struggling with recovery through
Gods love and mentorship. Dave has made his home in Boise, ID for the past 34 years. He proudly served
his country in the US Army in Ft. Hood, TX during the Vietnam War.
He treasured his summers on the fire lines. He was a veteran of the Northwest Fire season of over 15
years as a transport driver for front line firefighters. He would gather his boys around him daily to offer a
sense of safety and to share the word of God. Every year he left the fire lines a father of many more
than when he arrived.
Pastor David was a passionate believer who walked the highways and byways to provide guidance and
healing in places others would rather not go. Where ever he chose to minister, a hole in the heavens
opened above him where angels ascended and descended in support of his work.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Regina Collins, his children; Angie Billett, Tera Crane, James
Collins, Amanda Earl, and Katie Adams. His grandchildren; Bryant Billett, Kayla Crane, Devin Adams,
Justin Crane, Reine Earl, Carson Billett, Lauren Billett, Skyler Earl, Felicia Earl, Olivia Collins, Evan Collins,
and Levi Adams. His Brothers; Dwayne Collins and Mark Collins as well as sister-in laws, brother-in laws,
nieces, and nephews who love him and will cherish his memory and accomplishments in life.
The funeral will be held on Friday, December 16,2016 at 10:30 am at Riverwind Fellowship 10220 West
State Street, Boise with internment to follow at 2:00 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery 10100 N.
Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID.
ln lieu of flowers donations can be made to Riverwind Fellowship to help support Pastor Dave’s family
during this time.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Bella Vida Funeral Home for their amazing
support. They have gone above and beyond their calling in our time of need.

David has been a very dear friend for a long time. For well over two decades we worshipped together, challenged each other and celebrated life together. Most recently it has been my honor to serve him and RiverWind Fellowship, and come along side him and his family as they walked through this recent illness which took his life. Never once did he complain or question God or His love, but held fast in his belief that God was trustworthy and able to hold and keep him. It is my honor to serve his legacy and family at this difficult time.

Pastor Dave stood out among all the pastors I have known. He is genuine loving passionate and so transparent. So many gleaned so much from him. There is a void in the earth with him in his new place of residence. No one can take his place. totally impossible. I am so thankful for all he imparted to me and my family. David thank you for being such a positive force in my life. And even though I towered you in stature you have always been a larger than life character for me to look up to and to love and respect. Somehow I always felt safe and secure knowing you were close by you had that way about you. I am so blessed to have been able to share life and a family with you. You will remain for ever in my heart and the heart of the family and friends that you have touched in life. May god be with you and guide you as you enter the next adventure of your life. Until we see eachother again.
