Cyrus Kent Bailey (72) of Vacaville, CA, passed away peacefully—surrounded by his loving family on April 11, 2019 in Kuna, ID.
Kent was born July 30, 1946 in Malad, ID to Cyrus Hawkins Bailey and Verna Lenora Hilton Bailey. From the time Kent was a young man, he had a lot of energy, and used it to serve others. He graduated from Butte County High School in 1964, then attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. In 1966 he joined the United States Air Force to serve. Upon returning he married the love of his life, Judith Ruth Noble on March 6, 1970, in Lost River, ID. In 1976, they welcomed their only child into the world, Cecily Diane Bailey (Tidwell). Kent and Judy later divorced, but have stayed close to each other and remained good friends.
Kent was manager and co-owner of the A & A Market in Arco, ID and was sensitive to the needs of the elderly, widowed and less fortunate and made many improvements to the store during his time there. He was very personable with the customers and made many lifelong friends while working there for over 20 years.
Kent had a special relationship with his mother, Verna, and devoted his life to caring for her. He would have done anything for his mother. You could often find him in the yard planting flowers and shrubs, and even added a large patio where he entertained family and friends. After his mother’s passing in 1989, Kent moved to Vacaville, CA where his eldest sister Janet Staples lived. They formed a close family bond and he helped care for her at the end of her life.
While in CA, Kent worked for Walmart, Mikasa, and Harry & David where he always went the extra mile to care for his customers and fellow workers. Kent lived in a small condominium area in CA and helped many neighbors there. He enjoyed going to the pool, entertaining neighbors, and was always full of jokes. He was loved by all who were around him throughout his life.
Kent is survived by his only daughter, Cecily Diane Bailey Tidwell, son in law Lance Tidwell, four Grandchildren, Dillan (Kaylynn), Jake, Zack and Lacey; two siblings, Ann Harding and Diane (Kent) Woodhouse with numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his loving and caring ex-wife, Judith Noble Bailey, who deserves a very special thank you for caring for him during the months preceding his death.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents Cyrus and Verna Bailey, two siblings, Janet Staples and Robert Bailey and his loving grandparents.
A service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, at 224 E Avalon St Kuna, ID on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be provided after the service for friends and family. A second celebration of life will be held at the Cabana Club at 320 Creekview Ct. Vacaville, CA on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 5:00 PM.
