Service for Bradley D. Kurtz will be at 2pm on Saturday, February 13th at the Karcher Church of the Nazarene. His remains will later be buried at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery located on Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise.
Brad, born in Twin Falls on the 30th of Oct. 1954, graduated from Valley High School class of 1973. During this year, he married Janice Nelson and enlisted into the USAF from 1973 until 1980 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In 1980, he moved back to Boise and attended Boise State University. He graduated with a BA in 1984 and began working for Overland Furniture in 1985. During his marriage to Janice, Brad had two sons, Jacob and Peter Kurtz.
In 1996, Brad married Maria McBride and followed his dream of working in photography. During his marriage to Maria, Brad was father to Danielle Durfee and Ben McBride and grandfather to Madyson Durfee. He was eagerly anticipating arrival of his grandchild, Alice, before his untimely death on Tuesday after having been a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, friend, mentor and confidant. He enjoyed his family, friends, playing music, traveling, building rockets, and brewing for the next event.
His parents Alice and Harry Kurtz preceded him in death. His survivors include wife Maria Kurtz, sons Jacob Kurtz & Peter Kurtz, Ben McBride, daughter Danielle Durfee, granddaughter Madyson Durfee, sister Christina Baker, and father Warren Anderson.
