Bea Chesney went to her heavenly home late Thursday evening, March 9, 2017 surrounded by her life partner, Tommy, granddaughter Jennifer, son John, and daughter-in-law Julie.

A memorial will be held at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, Oregon at 10am March 13, 2017.

Bea was born April 12, 1936 to Prell and Opal Baker. She graduated from Stewartville High School in Stewartville, MN and went on to complete cosmetology school.

Bea married John Burbank Sr in 1957. She married again in 1973 to Keith Chesney who passed away in 2001. She found love again in the fall of 2003 with her life partner Tommy Thompson.

Bea was brought to the waters of Holy Baptism as an infant in 1936. She was an active and dedicated member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Ontario.

Bea is survived by a son, John Burbank Jr., daughter-in-law Julie, her granddaughters, Jennifer, Stephanie and Cassandra, her grandson Joseph along with five great-grandchildren Thaddaeus, Ashton, Carson, Landon, and Anwyn, all of which were the light of her life.

Bea was preceded in death by her husband Keith Chesney, mother Opal Weirsma, her father Prell Baker, her step-fathers Fritz Scholtz and Lloyd Mundell, her two sisters, Beverly and Jackie, her beloved daughter Susan.

Bea continued her career in 1977 in Ontario, Oregon as a barber with her business partner, Ron Gentry. They later joined their barber shop with Mike Stockman and Cathy Johnson to expand Stockman’s Barber shop to 4 chairs. In the Spring of 2016 Bea retired.

Bea’s creativity knew no bounds. She loved being in everyone’s hair.  She also enjoyed painting, crocheting, making cards, sewing, and gardening.

Those who met Bea knew she never met a stranger.  She was ever the social butterfly always there for her friends and family whenever she was needed.

Bea had been fighting a battle with breast cancer and was in treatment, but her passing was sudden and unexpected. Her family will remember her life as a celebration.

    My sincere condolences to the family and many friends. so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is very hard, we can find comfort in God’s word the Bible. The book of “John 5:28-29” tells us that our loved ones are soon to resurrected. Oh how we look forward to this time when pain, suffering and death will be no more. Please read Revelation 21:3-5.
